Cosmic Tracker – User Guide

Introduction

Trackers are derivative contracts that follow the price of crypto assets. Buying a Tracker lets you benefit from price movements of the underlying coin without holding the actual asset.

  • Example: Buying a BTC Tracker (BTC-T) tracks Bitcoin’s price.

  • Trackers cannot be sold short and are not leveraged, so you won’t face liquidation in a market drop.

  • Trackers can only be traded on Cosmic; they cannot be withdrawn to an external wallet.

Trading Trackers

Buying

  • Minimum unit: 1 Lot = 0.00001 BTC

  • Minimum order: 100 Lots (0.001 BTC)

  • Buy any amount up to your wallet balance.

Selling

  • Sell any amount up to your holding.

Trading Fees

  • Charged on both buy & sell: 0.05% (maker & taker)

Holding Costs

  • Charged daily at 5:30 PM IST for positions held.

  • First day holding is free.

  • Holding Cost = Holding Rate × Tracker Position Value

  • If wallet balance is insufficient, part of your Tracker is auto-sold to cover the cost.

Key Terms:

  1. Holding Cost Paid: Total cost paid so far

  2. Holding Rate: Rate applied the next day

  3. Next Holding Cost In: Time remaining until next deduction

Example: Holding BTC-T

  • Buy 200 Lots at $100,000

  • Trading fees: 0.05% at entry and exit

  • Holding fee: 0.03% daily

  • Selling before 5:30 PM the next day → No holding fee

  • Selling after 5:30 PM → holding fee deducted

Effect of holding multiple days:

  • Longer holding → higher cumulative holding fees

  • Tracker returns decrease over time due to holding cost

  • Tracker is more profitable for short-term trades compared to spot trading

Taxation

  • Trackers are derivative products.

  • Gains/losses taxed like Perpetual Futures and Options, not as VDA.

If you want, I can also create an even shorter “Quick Start Guide” for Trackers with only the essentials for buying, selling, and understanding costs. This would be perfect for new users. Do you want me to do that?
